Major media companies largely allow us to buy from other companies. As an example, the New York Times doesn’t sell beds or clothes. It does however, sell ads to companies which sell those things.
A while ago I was looking for wine gifts delivered straight to my father in law’s doorstep and I realized a few things after checking out the NY Times. First, I think their wine club has some nice options. I did wonder about what some of the wine clubs and companies that advertise with them would say about the Times actively selling wine. Do you really think that is going to be a good use of your advertising dollars over the long term given that situation?
